New venture for bowls in 2012

A new venture in bowls is being tried for 2012, it will be a tournament players club of in year 1 (64MEMBERS) the membership fee of the club will be £100 per year. We are already in discussions regarding a company providing all members with shirts to be used for the events during the season, and another of possible financial involvement. It is hoped in time to expand this club to 128 members in year 2 and who knows where we can go afterwards. THIS IS HOW THE PDC DARTS STARTED.

During year 1, there will be four one day events around the country restricted to club members only, and a national final day held at the waterloo for the top 32 bowlers in ranking list of the club, decided by points gained throughout the year in the 4 one day events. Entry into the one day events will be £10 on the day with a minimum of £1000 total prizes, and a minimum of over £4000 total prizes in the grand final. All draws to be done publically via the internet.

PROPOSED DATES OF THE EVENTS: (to be confirmed at January meetings)

SUNDAY 20th May 10am start
SUNDAY 24th June 10am start
SUNDAY 8th July 10am start
SUNDAY 26th August 10am start

GRAND FINAL held on Friday 28th September at the waterloo 11am start.

The 4 regional venues have not been decided yet, but would like any interested clubs to contact Jim Parker to put themselves forward. Ideally we are looking for one in manchester area, one in yorkshire area, one in shropshire, and one in the midlands.

Suggested minimum prizemoney is (ALREADY EXPECTED TO INCREASE):

One day events WINNER £400, RUNNER UP £200, 3RD & 4TH £100, LAST 8 £50

Grand Final WINNER £1200, RUNNER UP £500, 3RD & 4TH £300, LAST 8 £200, LAST 16 £75, LAST 32 £25

Points and prizes gained in qualifiers
10 points for attending each event, and loss of 10 points for non attending.
PLUS EXTRA
15 points for losing last 16
20 points for losing last 8 and £50
30 points for losing last 4 and £100
50 points for losing finalist and £200
75 points for winner £400

We would like to hear your views on this project,
and anybody interested remember in year 1 it is restricted to 64 members only.
